Common faults and solutions of starter motor
One reason is that the starter drive gear does not rotate and cannot work properly. There are usually multiple reasons for this situation, such as battery damage, insufficient kinetic energy, damage to the circuit from the battery to the starter, erosion of the starter switch contact plate, excessive engine resistance, or direct damage to the starter.
When this situation occurs, we need to conduct a preliminary diagnosis of the reason for the inability to start, and then take corresponding measures. If the circuit is damaged, repairing the circuit is sufficient; If the battery is damaged, please replace it. If the contact plate of the start switch is burned, the engine resistance is too high, or the starter is directly burned out, it is necessary to go to the corresponding repair point for handling.
Secondly, the power output of the starter is insufficient to drive the crankshaft. This situation indicates that the starter is moving, but it is moving slowly and cannot drive the crankshaft. Most of the reasons are short circuits in the excitation coil and low battery power, which can cause insufficient starter power. We can handle it accordingly.
After the start switch is turned on, the starter rotates at high speed and the engine cannot be started. The reason for this situation mostly occurs in the transmission mechanism, and it may also be caused by wear of the transmission gear or one-way clutch.
